Fatteh el hummus

Ingredients:

2 large thin pita lebanese pita bread or 3 small thick pita

2 cups cooked chickpeas

3 tablespoon butter

2 cups Greek yogurt

2 large clove garlic

1/4 cup water

1/2 teaspoon salt

Pinenuts

Cooking oil

Cinnamon

Directions:

  1. With a knife or scissors cut the pita bread into 1 inch squares.

  2. You are fry the pita bread with oil until golden brown or spray oil on the pita and bake/ toast until crunchy.

  3. Place the hummus in a pan with the butter and a sprinkle of salt, and heat on low until butter is combined with hummus.

  4. Crush the garlic into a bowl with the yogurt, add the water and salt and combine.

  5. Toast the desired amount of pinenuts in a pan with cooking oil or butter until golden brown.

  6. In a serving dish layer the hummus fatteh. First place the fried pita bread, then hummus, then garlic yogurt, sprinkle cinnamon on the yogurt, then top with pinenuts.

  7. Note: make the layers when it's time to serve. It's best eaten when it's made. Sahteen ❤
