Begin your Lebanese food journey at home with me.
Welcome to my passion project!
I’m Amale Chamseddine, a passionate and ambitious American-Lebanese Designer. When I was a child I would sit next to the big and bright lemon tree in our garden in Lebanon over looking the Mediterranean and dream of becoming an artist in the U.S. Maybe my child instinct knew that we would make our way back to the U.S. (the place where my father immigrated to in the 1980s) and I would tell the story of Lebanon through creative food photos and videos. And that’s exactly what happened.
I graduated college with a degree in Global Business Management and Fashion Design. Then I completed a certificate in UX Design. Simply where there is design, you will find me.
I have always liked trying different cuisines, but I discovered my passion for cooking while studying abroad in the UAE. It was a struggle in the beginning to cook, because if you know anything about Arab cooks, it’s that they don’t measure anything! They “sprinkle until their ancestors tell them to stop.” But the nostalgic Lebanese perfectionist in me couldn’t live with the idea of not having recipes to cherish. So I rolled up my sleeves, entered the kitchen, and I’ve been testing, cooking, and baking my passion away since.
As a designer I wanted to present the recipes I learn and discover through the most enchanting videos and photos. This blog and my social media platforms is where I share my work with you.
I hope you enjoy every bite you make from my blog. As we say in Lebanon, Sahteen!
