Sfouf

Ingredients/ Directions: (Measurements for a 9 x 13 inch pan)

3 cups of flour

1 cup soft semolina

2 cups Sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon turmeric spice

4 tablespoons powdered milk

2 1/4 cups of water, warm

1 cup of Canola Oil

Nuts: walnuts, pine nuts, pistachio, raisins, cashews (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl.

  3. Add the water and oil on top of the dry ingredients.

  4. Mix ingredients well with a whisk.

  5. Grease a 9 x 13 in cake pan with butter, put batter in the pan and top with crushed nuts (optional)

  6. Bake for 30-40 min. (insert knife or toothpick to determine doneness) The broil on low for 5 min. to give it a golden color.
