Lebanese Lemonade with orange blossom
When we lived in Lebanon during my childhood, we had a very large lemon tree that reached the second floor of the house. It was my favorite part of the garden where I would spend hours playing with my siblings and the neighbor’s daughter. Lemons are part of my childhood and they also make my all time favorite drink! I’m really good at making citrus drinks and I want to share with you the best lemonade recipe do you can try it too.
Lemonade in Lebanon is distinct because we use orange blossom to elevate the flavors.
Recipe (makes a large pitcher as shown above)
Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 tsp orange blossom water
Lemonade:
1 cup simple sugar (all the syrup in the recipe above)
1 1/4 cup lemon juice (3 large lemons or 4-5 small lemons)
6 cups water
4 cups ice
Directions:
In a small sauce pan, add the sugar and water over the stove top bring to a slight simmer or until all the sugar has melted. Then simmer for 3 minutes. Add the orange blossom at the end and turn off the heat. Set aside to cool. Note: Don’t mix the sugar and water to avoid burning the sugar at the edge of the pan.
Juice your lemons. Save the zest if you like your lemonade extra lemony.
In a pitcher, add the lemon juice, simple syrup, water, and ice. Mix well.
Decorate the pitcher extra lemon slices and lemon zest.
Serve in individual cups. Enjoy!
