Lebanese Style Beef Burger
Recipe: (makes 6-7 burgers)
2 lbs. 80% ground beef
1/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1 tsp Lebanese 7 spices*
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1/2 dozen burger buns
6-10 slices of American cheese, optional
condiments (Ketchup, Mayo, etc.)
Vegetables: pickles, sliced tomato, sliced onions, etc.
If you’re located in the U.S. you can purchase the seven spices at local arab markets or online here
Directions:
Add beef, 7 spices, Italian bread crumbs, black pepper, soy sauce, and ketchup to a bowl.
With your hands (you can use gloved hands) squeeze the beef and the ingredients together very well for 2 min.
Shape the beef into balls and set aside.
When ready to cook, grab a flat pan, grill or gridle and place the burger ball on the grill. Using a spatula, press the meat down until its 1/2 in in thickness. (You can also pre-shape the burgers and grill on a BBQ or bake in a pan in the oven at 450F and flip after 8 min. then bake again)
Grill the burger on medium high heat for 2 min or until it gets a dark color then using a spatula flip the burgers. Cook on medium heat for 4 min.
Turn the heat off, place a slice of American cheese on each burger and cover the burgers with a pan cover or aluminum foil until the cheese melts.
Create your burger
What you put on your burger is optional and you can add any condiment or bread type you prefer. But traditionally, you add the burger with coleslaw, ketchup, and fries to a big bun.
Here I toasted my burger buns with butter on a grill, then I add mayo, tomato, sliced onions, pickles, and ketchup. With a beautiful side of hot fries. Then off to a walk for the day haha
