Spiced Apple Cider

30 - 40 apples, gala/ granny smith/ golden red

You will need to juice those apples with a juicer to get 8 cups of apple juice.

OR you can use a food processor to process the apples and get it’s juice with a sieve.

If you want to skip all of that, you can purchase organic apple juice.

Recipe:

8 cups of freshly squeezed apple juice

2 sticks cinnamon

5 whole cloves

1 star anise

1 peel of orange, without the rind

2 tbsp dark brown sugar, optional

Directions:

  1. Pour apple juice to a pot, add the spices, and orange peel. Simmer until the juice is warm for about 5 min.

  2. Add the dark brown sugar, optional. The juice might already be sweet but if you prefer a sweeter cider than add the sugar.

  3. Simmer for another 10-20 min. Then remove the orange peel and the spices.

  4. Pour into mugs.

  5. The cider is good for 1 week in the fridge. This cider doesn’t have any preservatives.
