Lebanese Meat Marinade

This is a marinade recipe for any type of meat: steak, beef cubes, chicken, chicken drumsticks, or fish fillet. We use this as a base marinade on the stove top, in the oven, or even better while barbequing.

Recipe:

2 lbs. of any of your preferred meat

3 large lemons, squeezed or 3/4 cup lemon juice

4-5 large garlic cloves, crushed

1/3 cup olive oil

2 tsp Lebanese 7 spices (can be purchased online from spiceaffair.com)

1 tsp salt

** If you don’t plan to add potatoes or any other vegetable than decrease the amount of spices, lemon, and garlic by 1/3

Directions:

Note: I used 12 thinly sliced beef steak pieces and 4 russet potatoes cut into wedges for this recipe portion. This recipe portion is good for one whole chicken with potatoes.

I baked the meat in a heat safe pan mixed with the potatoes and covered with aluminum foil at 450 F for 40 min. then remove foil or cover broil for 5 min.

Enjoy the meat with a side of garlic sauce toum, pickles, and pita bread. OR opt for a side of fattoush which you can find on my blog!

For a quick garlic sauce: do 1 cup of mayo and 1 large minced garlic clove in a small bowl. Mix them together and you have your quick toum!
